From the moment Alyaa stepped out of the car, she was smiling from ear to ear.  As we began to talk she expressed her passion for helping people.  She told me that when she grows up, she wants to be a firefighter.  I asked her why and she said, " I want to help and save people."  She also expressed some of her favorite things, math and jumping rope.

One thing that really stood out to me about Alyaa is that she wasn't afraid of other people.  She is not shy at all.  When we were taking pictures at the park, there were kids playing on the playground.  She just jumped right in and played a long with them.  She did not hesitate to talk with me nor the other kids.  Alyaa has a sweet and sensitive personality that will light up any room.  As you can see, her smile is big, and this reflects how truly big her heart is.
