As I entered the Park area, I felt mini-butterflies in my stomach. I was there to photograph Jonathan, 8, and his sister Katlyn, 12, I truly didn’t know what to expect. All I wanted was to capture an image depicting a glimpse of personality. I gathered my gear, and along with a colleague, we were both introduced by social worker, to the siblings.
It took a little while for my butterflies to abate. Jonathan was all smiles, Katlyn a bit more reserved, but relaxed. It was a mini-reunion for the two of them and they were elated to see each other.
The sibling affection showed in a series of photographs. It was touching and saddening knowing that they would soon say goodbye. My hope is that they will soon be reunited on a more permanent basis in a loving and nurturing home. |
